A mysterious monolith was discovered near Las Vegas on June 17, leaving authorities and residents baffled. The sleek, metallic structure was found by the Las Vegas Metro Search and Rescue Team on a hiking trail near the Gass Peak trail in the Desert National Wildlife Refuge, approximately 16 miles north of Las Vegas.

The monolith, estimated to be around 10 feet tall, bears a striking resemblance to similar structures that have popped up in various locations worldwide. Its mirror-like surface reflects the surrounding landscape, adding to the enigma.

While officials have not commented on the origin or purpose of the monolith, theories are rampant. Some speculate that it could be an art installation or a marketing stunt, while others believe it may be connected to extraterrestrial activity.

"This is definitely a strange and intriguing occurrence," said Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson, Officer Rachel Martinez. "We are working to determine the origin and purpose of the monolith, but so far, we have no leads."

The appearance of the monolith has sparked a flurry of interest, with many flocking to social media to share theories and photos.
