A chaotic scene unfolded at the Cortez skatepark on Montezuma Avenue last night, as a fight broke out among minors, resulting in multiple shots fired into the air. The incident occurred at approximately 9:35 pm, just a block away from a car show.
According to the Cortez Police Department, the suspect, believed to be a juvenile, fled the scene on foot. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the shots fired.
Witnesses described the scene as frantic, with people rushing to get out of harm's way. A video captured by Instagram User tu.dah.lou_x shows a firework display malfunctioning and people scattering in panic.
