Trump Leads Biden 49%-43% Among Likely Voters

By Libertylens Post

July 4, 2024–A recent New York Times/Siena College poll has sounded alarms among Democratic elites, showing former President Trump leading President Biden 49%-43% among likely voters. [1] The three-point swing for Trump since the debate marks his largest lead in the survey since 2015. [2]

The poll's results, conducted by telephone from June 28 to July 2, found Trump's lead even greater among registered voters, 49%-41%. [1] A staggering 74% of voters believe Biden is too old to be an effective president, up five points since before the debate. [1]

Despite the grim results, Biden remains defiant, vowing to stay in the race.

"I am running. I am the leader of the Democratic Party. No one is pushing me out. I've been knocked down before and counted out my whole life. When you get knocked down, you get back up," Biden said on a campaign call. [3]

The Biden campaign has downplayed the poll's significance, suggesting it's an "outlier." [4] However, other recent polls show similar results, indicating a tight race. [5] [6]
